Hiking Trails to the Mountain Hut
You can reach the Berghaus Sonnenfels only on foot or by bike – via several well-marked trails:
- 25-minute walk from Brennes (trail Lo3)
- From Bayerisch-Eisenstein
- From the Kleiner Arbersee
- From Bodenmais (day tour)
- From Sommerau (day tour)
From our sun terrace you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Bavarian Forest and the surrounding peaks.

For the Whole Family
New Adventure Playground
In 2023 we built a new adventure playground at the forest's edge – with a dairy-hut play house, sandpit, climbing tower with slide, and swings. So even the youngest guests have their fun while parents enjoy the view.
